Doug Johnson, a veteran addictions counselor and administrator in Kansas, has retired from Mirror after 24 years of service. He was honored at a retirement party in Shawnee, Kans., on Nov. 9, 2016.

Johnson began his counseling career at St. Johns Hospital in Salina, Kans., in 1985. He holds a BA Degree from Friends University and served over 20 years in the Kansas Army National Guard. Most recently, Johnson served as director of Mirror’s Shawnee residential and outpatient treatment programs.

Well-known in the state for his professionalism and keen sense of humor, Johnson was lauded by Mirror staff and other addictions professionals. Barth Hague, President and CEO of Mirror, said “Doug is one of the important people who helped Mirror grow into the organization it is today. His daily presence will be missed.”
