On April 29th, the Youth as Resources Board participated in the national YMCA Healthy Kids Day initiative. Healthy Kids Day was designed to inspire kids to keep their minds and bodies active. Parents and kids that attended the event participated in activities that promoted a healthy lifestyle and bonded them with their community. YAR members created two booths that participants were able to visit. The first was a planting station where Youth as Resources members helped the kids plant their own tomato seed and provided them with instruction of how to care for and watch it grow when they returned home.  The second booth provided youth participants with the opportunity to try homemade salsa and even taste test each ingredient!  Over 69 youth attended the event.
